My friend, vikram’s marriage was celebrated last tuesday. After the sehrabandi ceremony, the bridegroom mounted a decorated mare. His people formed themselves into a procession with a band at the head.
They played musical tunes on their instruments. Then came a group of relatives. They were in their gala clothes. They were followed by the bridegroom’s mare. Behind the mare was the bearer of the wedding umbrella.
Another group of his kith and kin followed men with lights over their heads walked side –by – side. At the end was a party of singers and dancers. The procession moved slowly. At intervals it stopped. Singers and dancers gave a good performance. At last the procession reached the bird’s house. There it was given a warm reception.
